Convention Mentions:
Since it’s been a bit… we thought we would catch you up on the conventions that Pizza With a Fork has been a part of since we last chatted.
The Midwest Gaming Classic was a blast! We had not been to the classic before and it was overwhelmingly amazing. Our friend James had invited and sponsored us, and he led a few games in the board game hall. It was fun to talk to video gamers about board games. We met some amazing people and, because we were in the Indy Hall, saw some very cool and upcoming games. You can check out Cutoff Chaos from Kickstarter,  Chimera Hobby Shop (who sold Haunted Inheritance and Float Your Boat at the MGC) and a new favorite…  Nonetheless from Primitive Ingenuity on Steam.

We always love The Gaming Hoopla, which was in Milwaukee this year. David and I like to go to this convention to just play. We play and play and play until the wee hours of the morning. I especially loved Goats Day Out. Apparently, I’m really good at organizing what goats eat!! Great family game! We also played Harmonies, which is a beautiful game of strategy and puzzling. And although I finished in last place in New York Slice, we figured we had to play a pizza game at Hoopla… then we ended up buying it!! All three of these are GREAT family games that will keep the whole crew interested! We love to play at this convention, but they also raise money for Aurora Cancer Care. They raised over $40,000 for cancer research. What an amazing weekend of gaming and giving!

The next big convention is Strong Tower Gaming Convention September 5, 6, and 7th in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Not only is this a great chance to play games with an awesome group of Christian gamers, this is your opportunity to playtest our expansion to Haunted Inheritance featuring new Cursed Clocks and our big surprise–Grave Misfortunes!!! You heard it here first!!! But the first games to play test this awesome new twist on Haunted Inheritance at the Pizza With a Fork sponsored table at Strong Tower Gaming Convention.

If you are interested in joining us at this or any of the conventions, check out tabletop.events/conventions. If you make an account, you can pre-purchase day passes or sign up for a whole weekend!

Tea for Me and Tee for You!
I just have one word. AWESOMENESS!
We met Tommy and Tracy from Tea and Tea Card and Hobby at Evercon. Tommy invited us up to visit the store in Medford, WI and we had such a fun time with them! We demoed Haunted Inheritance, and I gotta tell ya’… they were so fun to play with! If you are ever up Nort’ in Wisconsin, we HIGHLY recommend stopping in to their shop. They have all kinds of Magic cards, role-playing games, Heroscape, WarHammer, RC vehicles for their track next door, vintage games, and a sweet arcade game room! Seriously worth the trip!!

A Very Geek Boutique
We met Becky and Mike at Midwinter Gaming Convention and then saw them again at the Midwest Gaming Classic. They are quite the lovely couple! Rebekah was telling us about their boutique store called, A Geek Boutique. It is a store of one-of-a-kind nerdy items, and they were in the process of moving to a new location. They wanted PWaF games as part of their collection. What an honor! We visited them in June, and we got a sneak peek of their store. You guys!!! They are going to have gummy D&D dice (totally edible), soap that will keep your gameplay fragrant, super cool unique games, puppy pins, sci-fi books… and of course, popcorn! If you are ever in Cedarburg, WI, you should definitely make a stop at A Geek Boutique.

Today begins their GRAND OPENING weekend!! Tomorrow, on August 23 (Saturday), PWaF will be there demoing Haunted Inheritance and Float Your Boat. Their store is super cute. You should come!!

OMG*… We’re demoing!
We met Andrew at Evercon. Well, actually Grant met Andrew. Grant meets everyone!! Andrew’s store, OMG, was one of the big sponsors at Evercon.

After the convention, we ended up stopping by to see him at his store, OMG, in Marshfield, WI. *OMG is short for Oddities, Manga & Games. The place is AWESOME!!  They have all-things-gaming like Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh, Warhammer, tons of board games, arcade games, D&D campaigns, Battletech, and so much more. Their calendar is filled with fun events and the people we met are even more fun. The energy at OMG is exciting and welcoming. You’ve got to see this place.

Speaking of the OMG calendar… Pizza With a Fork is on it! We are demoing Haunted Inheritance on September 13 at 1:00. If you are in the Marshfield area, stop by to play!! They are going to start carrying copies of Haunted Inheritance and Float Your Boat. Thanks OMG!!

Local Madison Games
Every other month, David and I host a game night for the community at High Point Church. We have some friends who host role playing campaigns while others play card games like Euchre. David and I bring a bunch of different types of board games: games for families, for strategy players, for those who like the party game, kids games, and some of those deep games that will take the whole 4 hours to play. We’ve even hosted a Deliverance game, led by our friend Coley from Mana Oasis. We would love to have you join us. Bring your friends and have a game night!

If you are local around the Madison area, join us for our next game nights, at High Point Church on Old Sauk Rd in Madison, WI. Here’s the link to find out more!

We also post the game nights on our website. Check us out at www.pizzawithaforkgames.com!

🥰 Shout outs! 📣
  • I know we say this a lot, but it’s true. We are so so so grateful to Grant. You are a scholar and a gentleman. Thank you for helping us run our vendor booths!
  • James has been playing Haunted Inheritance all over Wisconsin this past spring and during this summer. You are a rockstar!! Thanks!
  • Ok… James is getting a double shout-out! He brought Haunted Inheritance to the largest game convention in North America called Gen Con. It was in Indianapolis, IN this year. There are hundreds of thousands of people there and lots of them got to play our game because of James. Double shout-out for you, man! 🥰
  • Continual gratitude to Dee Dee and Raymond for being our friends and our gaming cohorts at Gaming Hoopla. We really don’t know what we would do without you.
  • A big thank you to Tom and Grant for making sure our new “Grave Misfortunes” were safe for the public, and for keeping David out of trouble while Heather was out of town!

It’s been a slice!!
