Heather and David Drenk are a wife-and-husband team who love playing and designing board games. They have a game room of their home stocked with close to 600 board and card games, and always seem to find more to add to their collection. They even have started a game night at their church as an excuse to play more games with more friends!
During the Pandemic, David brought out some of his board game prototypes and played them with Heather. The two realized that David is really good at coming up with impressive and exciting game ideas and Heather is really good at figuring out just what tweaking is needed to make a good game great. Heather and David want to share their love of games, their love of Jesus, and their love of fun wherever they go!
David started designing board games as a kid. His medium? Discarded styrofoam and cardboard. From a moving wall with spikes to a fully designed Haunted Inheritance™, his brain is always board-gaming, writing, and designing.
As a technical writer by day, David has a knack for making sure the details are correct. He loves to playtest and playtest and playtest PWaF games until they are just right. Pizza With a Fork will be featuring many of the games he has designed as a kid, as well as new creations from his noggin as an adult!
As far as pizza goes, Chicago-Style deep dish pizza is Heather’s go-to. Sausage, green pepper, and Roma tomatoes, please! While she has been a board-gamer all her life (5th Grade Chess Champion 1988!!!), writing, art, and design have been more of the creative direction that she has taken.
Being an elementary school teacher has made Heather learn to laugh for over 24 years. Kids say the darndest things and that is where she gets a lot of her material! While David makes sure the rules are accurate, Heather adds a touch of humor and those ‘punny’ jokes you will see in all of our rule books.
