The 2024 Strong Tower Gamers Convention was a huge success this year. I mean HUGE!
Get ready for highlights:
- There were over 400 gamers playing board games, card games, and role-playing games. From early in the morning until late at night the tables were filled with games of all kinds.
- The amount of laughter, shock and awe, serious game faces, cheering, and celebrating rang throughout the convention hall all weekend.
- Love Thy Nerd was awesome throughout the whole convention and helped us carry in our merch for our first every VENDOR BOOTH!
- Pizza With a Fork was able to sell t-shirts, mugs, water bottles, to-go utensils (Yes, there was a fork in there!) and several pre-orders for the retail version of Haunted Inheritance!
- We were able to meet several other vendors who had amazing products, games, and art.
- Lowen Games was next to us. Their new game, Deliverance, was a HIT at the convention. Our nephew and friend both won copies of this epic game. My brother loved it so much he purchased it! We will be playing Deliverance a lot. A Lot. …and we don’t mind!
- The crew from Mana Oasis led games and were hilarious! Eric and my nephews apparently had ‘tactical cheeseburgers’ that saved the day in their RPG. Playing games with them and talking about how to serve and bless the veterans in our community that are dealing with PTSD, among many other things, was great. It even looks like we may bring Haunted Inheritance to a Mana Oasis get together later this year!
- LTN Radio interviewed us. It was awesome chatting with Radio Matt about Haunted Inheritance, our game nights at church, and some of our favorite games. Check out the YouTube video here!
- We met Heather from Safe Families for Children and she was a hoot! Turns out… we went to college together. Her husband lived two floors below my brother-in-law! What a fun sense of humor God has in this small world. PWaF will be heading to the Kenosha area in October to be a part of their Game Day! Woot! What a fun connection!
- With the consignment games and raffle prizes, gamers raised over $6000 for Safe Families! What a huge blessing to be partners with such a gracious group of people.
We had so much fun and didn’t get much sleep. I almost won when I played Settlers of Catan, Soda Smugglers, and Green Team Wins, but had loads of fun with those groups.
When I played Flick ‘Em Up: Giant Edition, our team of bandits outsmarted the lawmen, easy peasy. Don’t mess with our outlaws! Playing Mysterium with a few newbies was hilarious. Consey from Wisco Dice kept us in suspense and messed with us all game. I guess I’m pretty good at reading clues from the spirit world!
The convention was amazing. Getting to be a vendor, talk about our games, share our love of Jesus and of board games, and promoting our brand in a new way was exciting. So, when I say it was a HUGE success, that only scrapes the surface of the success stories that come from this convention.
