Haunted Inheritance Play-O-Rama

First of all, we want to say thank you to Strong Tower Gamers. What a fun conference and great opportunity to meet so many new people. This is their first conference (and mine) and has been so much fun so far. The atmosphere was inviting and welcoming. We loved the energy from the coordinators and volunteers. And, as an added bonus, we get to hangout out with our good friends, Dee Dee and her son Raymond, who is the coolest 15 year old we know. They are our game-playing buddies and we are stoked to be able to play games with them all weekend!

WE didn’t sign up to play very many games yet. We wanted to see how our first hosting session went with Haunted Inheritance. We ended up playing it with some amazing people today. Our first session was right out of the gate at 10:00 a.m. Brian and Justin from Plymouth, and Matt from Ashippun, were a hoot to play with. They made it all the way to the end of the game and when the sun rose, Justin was left with $420,000 and the big W! We even got to talk to Ellen Kirby from We Game Together! (We love them!!) She was so encouraging about our game and the kickstarter beginning at the end of the month.

Later in teh evening we met Sarah from Lake Geneva, and Justin, who was representing a new board game hall down the way from the convention center. (I think it is somewhere on Blue Mound Rd in Brookfield, WI. … w forgot to get the name of their buiz. Oops!) –Justin! Give us a shout out with the name of your gaming hall. We’d love to know. Any-who… Sarah and Justin were troopers. They went through all of the rules, started the game and the mosters were poppin’ up in every corner. So much so that… they both died. Fast. Really fast. Ugh. It happens once in a while. We laughed about it and chatted for a bit. Sarah decided that she died too fast and wanted to play again. David and I got to play with her, and although we did all end up dying before sunrise, at least Sarah got to meet the Zombie! He was pretty relentless.

The evening finished up with me heading to bed and David and Raymond playing Humboldt’s Great Voyage. It was a fun twist on Mancala that ended up with Raymond beating David, as usual.

We can’t wait until tomorrow!!
